Blackboard Login Enhancements
During the last upgrade on May 31st, changes were made to the login process to move towards a single sign on process. Visit https://blackboard.ku.edu/new-login-look-for-blackboard for specific details. We received feedback that this update increased the number of clicks required to login.
In response to this valuable feedback, KU IT has developed an option which allows users to select a checkbox which remembers the users information and will bypass the initial screen for the next 14 day period. When users login after August 16th, 2015, they will see the following modified login buttons at courseware.ku.edu:
If you would like your browser to skip the screen (shown above) in the future and go directly to the username and password screen, select the checkbox on the appropriate button. This places a cookie on your browser so in the future, this screen will instantly redirect you to the login window (shown below).
This cookie will be valid for 14 days so that when you visit courseware.ku.edu on the same computer using the same browser, you will continue to be redirected. Once the cookie expires, it is removed from your browser and the original login screen will appear. You will have the choice to select the checkbox again or not.
NOTE: If KU Online ID is selected, this option can be reset/removed by completing any one of these three actions:
- Visit http://courseware.ku.edu/common/reset. This will clear the stored cookie and stop the page from redirecting.
- Clear the browser history of cookies for courseware.ku.edu.
- Choose to visit the site with a different browser where the preference has not been selected.
