Blackboard's Social Learning Tools allow you to discover, connect and collaborate with faculty and students in your courses, at KU, and at other colleges and universities with Blackboard Learn.

Use your profile to highlight your academic interests, experience, and share a profile picture. A profile is not the same as your user account:
- A User Account is a reflection of your user information at KU. You can edit your user account information by editing your personal information at https://hr.ku.edu under Personal Information in the Self-Service menu.
- A Blackboard (MyEdu) Profile is a reflection of how you want to present yourself to your peers and students. In your Bb profile, you decide what you want to be called, what your academic interests are, and anything else you want to share.

The People tool is a single location where you can find and connect anyone with a user profile. These connections can be made through existing connections, such as a course you teaching or through new connections you decide to make.People ».
My Blackboard Messages allow you to exchange simple messages with other people who use Blackboard. My Blackboard messages are not the same as Course Messages or Email. You do not have to be online at the same time as other people to send and receive course messages. You do have to be logged into Blackboard to send and receive My Blackboard messages.

A Space is a group that you can easily and quickly create to collaborate with other users. Spaces are not the same as organizations. Spaces can be created and managed by anyone.
