Blackboard Maintenance Sunday August 11, 2019 12:01 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.

On Sunday August 11, 2019, between 12:01 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., within the published maintenance window, KU IT will will be performing necessary maintenance to Blackboard. While we expect Blackboard to remain available, there may be a chance a user’s work could be interrupted during this time. Please plan accordingly.

Blackboard Mobile App - select school name for successful login

Due to a change in Blackboard’s secure login process the mobile app now requires KU users to use single sign-on. If you have used the app recently you may need to re-select the school name in order to login successfully. Step-by-step instructions are below.

iOS and Android:
On the app login page, click on the words ‘University of Kansas’. Backspace over to delete them.
Type ‘kansas’.
Select ‘University of Kansas’.
Click the ‘Web Login’ button.
Click the ‘KU LOGIN’ button.

Update: Resolved - Known issues with assignment grading & annotations in Box View

Blackboard has announced this evening that the issues with Box inline assignment grading have been resolved.

Attached documents in Blackboard’s Assignment grading view may not open for students

If you do not attach files when grading assignments in Blackboard you can disregard this notice.

VoiceThread Outage: Tuesday, July 3rd, 11:00 p.m. - midnight

VoiceThread will be performing system updates on Tuesday, July 3rd from 11:00 p.m. to midnight. Users will not be able to access VoiceThread at this time.

Blackboard Outage: Sunday, May 20th, 2018 from 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM

On Sunday, May 20, 2018 between midnight and noon, within the published maintenance window, we will be performing necessary maintenance and upgrades to Blackboard.This maintenance is necessary in order to keep us on current supported releases.

Blackboard Maintenance Sunday April 15, midnight – 2 a.m.

On Sunday April 15, 2018, between 12:01 and 2:00 a.m., within the published maintenance window, we will be performing urgent maintenance to Blackboard. This is to address a known security issue. While we expect Blackboard to remain available, please be aware that there is a chance that a user’s work could be interrupted during this time. Please plan accordingly.

SafeAssign Outage: Monday, April 2nd, 2:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Blackboard will be performing maintenance on the SafeAssign plagiarism detection feature in Blackboard on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Please be aware that SafeAssign will not be available to accept documents during this time. Any student submissions that are made during this time will not receive SafeAssign Originality Reports. The rest of our Blackboard system will be unaffected by this maintenance.

Blackboard Service Has Been Restored

Blackboard is now available. KU IT staff have resolved the issues and verified that the service has been restored. If you continue to experience problems logging into Blackboard or other KU technology services, please contact the IT Customer Service Center at 785-864-8080 or itcsc@ku.edu.
